A self-employed tradeswoman closes her van door outside a customer’s house at the end of a job

For independent contractors

You do the work and the paperwork. Get your evenings back.

SendWork is being built for the one-person service business. Price the job once, on site — the estimate, the deposit and the invoice all come from it. Your customer approves and pays the deposit on their phone, pays the balance by card when you’re done, and every payment lands on the job. Nothing goes to a customer until you approve it.

When you work alone

The job ends at five. The paperwork starts after dinner.

On your own, the day has a second shift: the estimate you promised on site, the invoice you still owe, the note about who has paid. SendWork is built to fold that shift into the job itself.

Today

  • The estimate you promised on site, typed up at the kitchen table.
  • Starting the work with nothing paid up front.
  • Invoices written at night from notes on your phone.
  • Who has paid — somewhere between your bank app and your memory.
  • Your regulars’ next visits, kept in your head.

With SendWork

  • The job priced once, on site. The estimate is made from it.
  • The deposit requested the moment they approve, paid by card before you start.
  • The invoice already filled in when you finish. You check it and send it.
  • Every payment recorded on the job, so you know who has paid.
  • Regular work set to repeat once, with every visit on your calendar.

One job, start to finish

On site to paid, on one record.

Here’s one job the way SendWork is built to run it when you’re the whole business — every step on the same record, with your customer kept in the loop. The estimate and the deposit are yours to switch on or off, job by job, and parts you order go straight on as line items. For a quick turnaround, create the task with just the customer, the place, the date and the time — no price needed.

Everything else a one-person business carries

The rest of the work, kept straight

  • Every customer’s history

One record per customer: their details, every address you work at, and every job, payment and note — there when they call again.

  • Regular work, scheduled once

Weekly, monthly or quarterly: set it to repeat once and every visit lands on your calendar as its own job, ready to invoice.

  • Fixed price or by the hour

Price by the job or by the hour. Time you record on an hourly job shows on the invoice at your rate.

  • Jobs with no price at all

Not every visit needs a price. Create the task, start it and finish it — your customer still hears from you at each step.

  • Your customer kept in the loop

An email when the job is booked, when the work starts and when it’s done — following what you do, not typed up at night.

  • Paid the way they pay

Card online at launch, or the ways people already pay where you work — each payment recorded on the job.

Nothing goes out without your OK

  • You send the estimate. It goes when you create the job with the estimate switched on — not before.
  • You send the invoice. It opens filled in when you finish the job, and goes when you press send.
  • Your customers see only what you send. Emails about their jobs and a page to approve each estimate. The record itself is yours.

Questions from people who work alone

Is SendWork for someone who works alone?

Yes. It’s built for the owner still on the job, sole traders included. The Independent Professional plan is for one person; when you take someone on, add them and start assigning work.

Can I take a deposit before I start?

Yes. Switch the deposit on when you create the job — a fixed amount or a percentage. The moment your customer approves the estimate, the deposit request is in front of them, and they can pay it by card. The job shows Awaiting Deposit until it’s paid.

Do I have to retype anything to invoice?

No. The invoice is built from the job — the same lines, prices and taxes you set on site. Press Complete Task and it opens filled in; you check it and press send.

Can my customers pay me the way they do now?

Yes. Card payments online are part of SendWork at launch, and you can record payments made the usual ways in your country, like bank transfer or cash — each one on the job.

Is SendWork live today?

Not yet. We’re opening founding-customer access in stages. Joining the list gets you an invitation — it doesn’t create an account or start a trial.
